Charlie Davis selected as Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Eltham & Chislehurst

Conservative members in the new Eltham and Chislehurst constituency have selected Charlie Davis as their parliamentary candidate for the next General Election.

Charlie is a former Eltham councillor and Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on Greenwich Council. He works in FinTech, specifically small business finance and lives in the constituency with his partner and daughter.

Eltham and Chislehurst will be a new constituency at the next General Election and combines the majority of the old Eltham constituency, with Mottingham and Chislehurst from the former Bromley and Chislehurst constituency represented by Sir Bob Neill MP.

Following his selection, Charlie Davis said: “It is a privilege to be selected as the Conservative candidate for Eltham and Chislehurst. This constituency is where I grew up and have lived most of my life. I’m focused on campaigning on the issues that matter to our communities, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, improving our public transport infrastructure and powering economic growth to help ease cost of living pressures for residents. Eltham deserves the kind of champion in Parliament that Chislehurst has enjoyed for almost two decades in the form of Sir Bob and I know I can be that champion.”

Sir Bob Neill MP, MP for Bromley and Chislehurst, said: “Charlie is an excellent choice for Eltham and Chislehurst, and I’m looking forward to campaigning with him in both Mottingham and Chislehurst over the coming months. It has been wonderful representing those two communities during my time as their MP and I will continue to do so for the remainder of this Parliament. I know that Charlie will continue to champion the issues that matter to residents in Mottingham and Chislehurst during this campaign, and hopefully for many years to come in Parliament.”

Councillor Matt Hartley, Leader of the Conservative Group on Greenwich Council, said: “Charlie is just what the new Eltham and Chislehurst constituency needs in its first MP - a tireless campaigner who always puts local people first. He puts all of his energy into the causes he believes in - like strengthening community policing and backing our small businesses. And as he showed in his six years as a highly effective local councillor, once Charlie gets his teeth into an issue, he never lets go. I’m looking forward to supporting his campaign to keep Chislehurst blue, and to give Eltham the strong Parliamentary representation it needs.”
