Thomas Turrell

Parliamentary Candidate for Greenwich & Woolwich

Thomas works in the financial services sector having studied at the University of Greenwich. He has been a renter in London for a decade and has lived across the constituency in Greenwich, Woolwich, Charlton and Blackheath. He is married and is the proud ‘owner’ of two cats.

Thomas has been an active member of the community, serving as a Primary School Governor and a Trustee of the Maryon Wilson Animal Park Trust. Thomas has also been an NHS Public Governor and been involved in Safer Neighbourhood Panels and Rail User’s Groups.

Thomas has a track record of securing transport improvements, leading two successful campaigns; the first getting an extra bus on the 108 service, and the second working with Cllr Geoff Brighty led to the new 335 bus route between North Greenwich and Kidbrooke. Thomas has also campaigned on local road safety, rezoning of train stations, and support for local shops and traders.

Thomas has previously stood for election to Greenwich Council in Blackheath Westcombe and Greenwich West wards. Generations of his family have lived and worked in Greenwich, first coming to the area as soldiers stationed at the Woolwich Arsenal, his grandfather set up two local businesses in Woolwich and Charlton.
