Eltham Conservatives have announced Ben Crompton and Elizabeth Drury will be the local Conservative candidates for Eltham Park and Progress ward in the 2026 elections.
Liz is a married mother of two who has lived in Eltham for 29 years. Liz now works for a national charity, and serves as a trustee for a disability charity. Ben married recently and works as a solicitor in London, and also volunteers his time as a trustee of two local charities.
Conservative candidate Elizabeth Drury said: "Eltham needs a fairer deal from Labour-run Greenwich Council, and we need many more Conservative councillors fighting for local people at the Town Hall to make this argument more powerful. I am thrilled to have been selected by my fellow local Conservative Party members in Eltham Park & Progress to stand up for their interests. I've lived here for three decades and I know the problems that need fixing. I'm looking forward to speaking as many neighbours as possible over the next 9 months."
Ben Crompton added: "We know from speaking to people across Eltham Park and the Progress Estate just how badly let down they feel. Whether its the potholes that plague our roads, Sadiq Khan's cuts to policing or the Council's parking charge increases that are hurting businesses and residents alike - Labour are letting Eltham down. I'm looking forward to working with Liz to offer a positive alternative at the local elections May, and working as hard as I can to give residents a voice."
Greenwich Conservatives Deputy Leader Councillor Charlie Davis, who previously served as a councillor for the area, said: "People in Eltham Park and on the Progress Estate couldn't ask for better local champions than Ben and Liz, and I'd like to congratulate both of them on being selected from a highly competitive field. We've shown time and again that it's only Conservative councillors who stand up for Eltham. But there are currently only 4 of us Conservative councillors at the Town Hall, with the job of opposing 49 Labour councillors who just do whatever the Council's leadership and Sadiq Khan tells them. That needs to change, for all our sakes."
