Campaigners launch petition calling for new North Greenwich to Kidbrooke Village bus route

Campaigners in Blackheath are petitioning the Mayor of London for a new bus route to connect North Greenwich and Kidbrooke Village.

New weekend night service for 132 bus

Transport for London have announced that as of September 12th the 132 bus will run a new night service on Fridays and Saturdays to reflect the increased demand on buses at nights.

Safer crossing at Shooters Hill Road / Stratheden Road? - TfL Proposals

Following consultation with local residents a year ago TfL has said that it will be going ahead with its proposed pedestrian and cycle improvements at the junction of the A2 Shooters Hill Road with Stratheden Road and Prince of Wales Road. As local residents know only too well it is a difficult place for pedestrians and cyclists wanting to cross and the TfL proposals are aimed at improving the situation.

Crossing time extended in Blackheath village

Conservative Councillor for Blackheath Westcombe ward, Geoff Brighty, has secured longer crossing time for Blackheath commuters. Last month Geoff contacted Transport for London (TfL) to raise the issue of the timing of the lights of the pedestrian crossing opposite Blackheath railway station.

TfL Set to Finally Repair Bridges

Transport for London have announced that they will be starting repairs on the Old Dover Road and Charlton Road Bridge. For the past year the bridges have had ‘ugly’ barriers either side following a car accident on the Charlton Road bridge left serious damage to the railings in October 2013.

Blackheath Westcombe Conservatives have welcomed the petition organised by residents calling on TfL to install pollution and noise barriers along the residential sections backing on to the A102.

Transport for London pledge action on overcrowded 108 bus route

Earlier this year local Conservative campaigner Thomas Turrell launched a new campaign to increase bus capacity between North Greenwich and the Blackheath Royal Standard. Last week Thomas met with Transport for London’s (TfL) Mike Weston, Director of Buses, John Barry, Head of Network Development, and a member of John Barry’s team to raise the issue.

Update on Charlton Road Bridge Railing Repairs

Since a car accident that left serious damage to the Charlton Road railings local Conservative Candidate Thomas Turrell has been working with Conservative London Assembly Member Gareth Bacon to put pressure on TfL to complete the repair work.
