Victory for ‘Save the Porcupine’ campaign as LiDL plan rejected

Conservatives in Coldharbour, Mottingham & New Eltham ward are celebrating tonight after LiDL’s plans to demolish the Porcupine Pub were rejected unanimously by Bromley Council’s planning committee. The victory for Save The Porcupine campaigners in the village follows more than a year of work against LiDL’s plan.

Local Conservatives secure last minute Council u-turn over the Porcupine

Local Conservatives have secured a last-minute u-turn from Labour-run Greenwich Council after its “ridiculous” decision to raise no objection to LiDL’s plans to demolish Mottingham’s Porcupine pub. The move comes as a decision on the deeply unpopular planning application is due from Bromley Council’s planning committee this Thursday (20th February).

Coldharbour, Mottingham and New Eltham Conservatives have welcomed Bromley Council’s decision not to rubberstamp LiDL’s proposed demolition of the Porcupine Pub in Mottingham village. Cllr John Hills, Cllr Mandy Brinkhurst and 2014 candidate Matt Hartley have been supporting Mottingham Residents Association and the Save the Porcupine group in the campaign to save the pub from demolition.
