Conservative Councillors have visited Eltham High Street to talk to traders about fears of violence spreading from other parts of London, and thanked the police for their efforts to protect the community.
Cllr Adam Thomas recently attended the latest Eltham South Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel meeting to discuss issues concerning residents.

In April, James Garry, Conservative Spokesman for Charlton, helped to fix the first Neighbourhood Watch signs to lampposts in Eastcombe Avenue. The newly founded Neighbourhood Watch scheme will help to raise awareness about crime & safety in Eastcombe Avenue and surrounding areas. Residents of Charlton have expressed concern to James about recent criminal activity in the ward, especially household burglary. Figures out today from the Metropolitan Police Authority show that crime is still rising in the London Borough of Greenwich. Whilst vehicle crime has fallen, robberies and street crime have risen by 56% compared to the previous year, residential burglary and gun crime by 3% and possession of offensive weapon by 15%. There were 12 murders - an increase of 8 on the previous year.
