Andy Jennings selected for Greenwich and Lewisham

Kidbrooke with Hornfair Councillor Andy Jennings was last night selected on the first ballot as the Conservative candidate for the Greenwich and Lewisham constituency for next May's Greater London Assembly elections.

Andy, who lives in Charlton, is a chartered accountant and the Conservative spokesman for finance on Greenwich Council.  He is chairman of the governing body of Invicta Primary School in Blackheath.

Also in the final meeting were Antonia Cox and Cllr Philip Briscoe.

On receiving the nomination at a Special General Meeting of the combined Lewisham and Greenwich local associations Andy said, "I am honoured and humbled that you have given me the chance to represent and stand up for the community in which I live.  Lewisham and Greenwich deserve so much better, and I will campaign tirelessly over the next twelve months to make sure that our boroughs are put at the top of the London agenda."
