Elizabeth Truss

Elizabeth was elected to Greenwich Council in 2006, representing Eltham South ward, and stood down in 2010. In May 2010 Elizabeth became the MP for South West Norfolk. She is currently an Education Minister.

Chris Taylor

Chris was first elected to Greenwich Council in 2002 and stood down in 2010, and he is a policy advisor at the London Assembly. From May 2010 to May 2014 Chris served as a Conservative Councillor for Colyers ward in the London Borough of Bexley, also serving as a Cabinet Member.

Dermot Poston

Dermot was first elected to Greenwich Council in 1968, and stepped down from the council after a long and distinguished career in public service before the 2014 elections. Dermot was awarded an MBE in 2013 and the Freedom of the Borough in 2014.

Peter King

Peter was first elected to Greenwich Council in 1978 but stood down from the Council in 2010.  Peter was the only ever Councillor for Palace Ward in Eltham and had a long and distinguished career as Leader of the Opposition from the 1980s through to 2004.  Peter returned to the front bench as Deputy Leader from 2006 to 2009.

Peter was the Chairman of the Greenwich Conservative Federation until May 2011 and has lost none of his ability to provoke argument over the years including taking a firmly pro-AV stance during the recent referendum.

John Hills

Councillor for Coldharbour & New Eltham ward
John was first elected to Greenwich council in 2000, when he won a by-election and has continued to be re-elected in 2002, 2006 and 2010; in total serving his local community for 14 years, and being part of a team of three ward members since 2002.

Nigel Fletcher

2018 Council Candidate for Eltham South ward
Nigel was first elected to Greenwich Council in 2005 and served until 2014, including as Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Cabinet Member for Culture and the Olympics. He is the Founder of the Centre for Opposition Studies and is currently completing a PhD thesis.

Spencer Drury

Councillor for Eltham North ward
Spencer is a married father of two teenage children who lives on the Eltham side of Shooters Hill. Spencer was first elected to Council in 2002 and has served on Greenwich Council as a Councillor for Eltham North ward since that time. He was Deputy Leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2006 and Leader of the Opposition from 2006 to 2015. Spencer works at Colfe's School in Lee where he is currently Director of Sixth Form and Head of the Government & Politics Department.

Graeme Coombes

Graeme was elected to Greenwich Council during 2006-2010. Graeme is Conference Director and Head of Division for an international exhibitions and events company.  In May 2011, one year after losing his seat in Greenwich, Graeme was elected to Bedford Borough Council for Wilshamstead Ward.

Mandy Brinkhurst

Councillor for Coldharbour & New Eltham ward

Mandy was first elected to Greenwich council in 2006 and currently works for a local charity providing services to older people in the community.

Mandy lived on Coldharbour Estate until she was married and then for a number of years on Sidcup Road at the Fiveways.  Mandy attended Greenacres Primary School and went on to Kidbrooke School for Girls.

Geoff Brighty

Councillor for Blackheath Westcombe ward
Geoff has been a Conservative Councillor in Greenwich since 1982 and has represented Blackheath Westcombe Ward, where he has lived most of his life, since 2006. Geoff serves on the Planning Board, Greenwich Area Planning Committee the Licensing Committee and the General Purposes Committee and is currently the Opposition Whip.
