NHS Consultation events on new Passey Place Community Hospital

NHS Greenwich will begin a series of consultation events next week to allow residents to look at it's early proposals for the the development of a new community hospital at Passey Place.  NHS Greenwich is stating that construction is likely to start in mid 2011 with final completion in early 2013.

The hospital will replace the former Eltham and Mottingham House cottage hospital and is likely to include:

  • An urgent care centre
  • GP Practice
  • 40 bed intermediate (24 hours) care facility

The new hospital is also likely to provide other services such as ante-natal care, podiatry and therapeutic services.

Eltham South councillor Adam Thomas is encouraging residents to attend the consultation events and have their say about the plans and what services they would like to see in the local community.  In particular Conservative councillors will continue to ask what provision will be made for elderly care, to try and match the nursing care services for the elderly previoulsy provided at Eltham and Mottingham House.

There will be four consultation events over the course of the week:

  • Monday 7 June, 3pm-8pm, St Marys Community centre, Eltham High St
  • Tuesday 8 June, 3pm-8pm, St Marys Community Centre, Eltham High St
  • Saturday 12 June, 9am-1pm, New Eltham Methodist Community Centre, 435 Footscray Rd
