Conservatives help to clean up Avery Hill Park

Local Conservative campaigner Adam Thomas recently joined members of the Friends of Avery Hill Park to help with a community litter pick.  File 490The team worked on the stream that runs along the western side of the park and a whole manner of different objects were fished out including tyres, car parts, bottles and tins.  After two hours of work the water in the stream was flowing a little more freely.

The Friends Groups across Eltham South and the borough do a great job in keeping our parks and open spaces in good shape and places which we can all enjoy.  The Eltham South team have supported the Friends Groups at Avery Hill Park and the Tarn, who have been working on a number of projects to improve these great community assets.  Greenwich Council has failed to look after our green spaces which are so important to all us, that's why we support David Cameron's announcement of a new Big Society Bank which will provide local charities and voluntary groups with the necessary funding to keep doing valuable community work like the Friends Groups in Eltham.
