John Roan GCSE grades out

John Roan Secondary schools GCSE's results are out and despite the hard work of pupils it would appear that the council has once again let down the children. 34% of pupils at John Roan School were able to achieve 5 A* to C Grades at GCSE including the all important English and Maths grades, this is in comparison to 46.7% nationally. Greenwich has now slipped to bottom in the London league table and also sadly has one of the highest levels of unauthorized absence. Given these results it is no surprise that so many parents try to send their children to schools outside Greenwich Council's control, with nearly 500 pupils a year leaving Greenwich Primary Schools to go to secondary school in surrounding boroughs. We can only hope that teachers are allowed to get on with teaching and not burdened by greater levels of council paperwork.
