More Noise from Heathrow?

Residents in Greenwich and Blackheath are worried that Government proposals to expand Heathrow could lead to more noise over the area.  A consultation paper on expanding the airport includes plans for a new runway, a big increase in flights and planes coming in lower over SE London on their approach to Heathrow.

Many people across the region believe that the Government has already decided that expansion should take place. In a question at the December meeting of Greenwich Council, Councillor Geoff Brighty, will be pressing for the Council to represent the interests of its residents to Government as strongly as possible.  Many residents already complain of noise disturbance from Heathrow bound flights, particularly in the early morning.
