Westcombe Hill Traffic

Following concerns expressed by local residents about traffic speeding on Westcombe Hill Councillor Geoff Brighty arranged a meeting with the Council's Highways Officers to discuss the issue. As a result an ATC (Automatic Traffic Count ) has been taking place there since early December.  Over a two week period the counters will automatically log all vehicle movements and speeds but will be able to differentiate between different size vehicles.  From the data received it should be possible to gain a valuable assessment of the problems across all categories of vehicles, including large vehicles and buses which have been highlighted by some residents as posing a particular problem.

Once the data has been processed and analysed the findings will be made available by the Council to London Buses and the police to consider whether further action is required.  The report should be ready early in 2008.
