300 local school children are the first to play at the o2

On Wednesday night the o2 played host to 300 primary school children from across Greenwich, who sung a number of songs to a crowd of over 15,000. Local residents were invited to try out the facilities at the new entertainment venue for London, everyone there seemed to enjoy the facilities and were heard to say things like, "I can't wait until its open." Over the next few months the o2 will play host to events such as Bon Jovi, the Rolling Stones, Snow Patrol, NFL and NBA games as well as boxing. When the Olympics come to Greenwich in 2010 then the o2 will be hosting the gymnastics and Basketball finals.

Cllr Alex Wilson said "The o2 will bring many job opportunities to Greenwich, as over 40% of people currently employed are from across Greenwich, this is a fantastic venue for Greenwich to have and I recommend that everyone pops down when they get the chance to have a look around."
