Councillor attends Lion Swimming Club AGM

On Sunday (25th March) Councillor Spencer Drury was fortunate to be invited to the Lion Swimming Club AGM.  The club, which is for people with physical and learning disabilities, held its AGM at the Eltham Pools where its members make use of the warm water pool (definitely not a hydropool according to the Council).

Cllr Drury spoke briefly at the end of the AGM to give an update on the building of the new Eltham Centre and the major area of concern, at present, being whether there will be enough parking.  Members of the club expressed concern about the number of parking spaces for disabled users.  In addition, most people felt that the limited parking that is to be provided should be for users of the centre only.

Cllr Drury said "I was very honoured to be invited to attend the Lion Swimming Club AGM.  It is a great club which does an excellent job for some of the most vulnerable people in our community."
