Improving the Eltham South area

Eltham South Councillor Matt Clare has successfully campaigned for the planting of shrubs and trees along Court Road, between Woodmere and Middle Park Avenue.

Court Road enjoys a near continuous line of trees and shrubs from Court Yard to the Tarn and Woodmere. The recent planting of young shrubs, with trees following later this year, completes that green line. It will also help keep the air cleaner near to the unfortunately frequent traffic queues and give more privacy to the flats.'

Meanwhile Eltham South council candidates Nuala Geary and Mark Elliott – as Chair and Treasurer of the Friends of Avery Hill Park – have been working with the Group to secure much-needed focus on the park, which also saw the recent planting of scores of young saplings.

Last year, after requests from Cllr Clare, the Council planted young shrubs around the New Eltham shops area. A few additional trees will also be planted in Crown Woods Way this autumn.
