Conservatives secure part-time travel card for commuters

Last year the Conservatives on the London Assembly proposed introducing a part-time travel to save part-time workers hundreds of pounds a year on travel and also to offer rebates to full time workers who use alternative travel to work, such as cycling.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has now accepted the proposals and pledged to introduce the part-time travel card in some form by within the next twelve months so it will be ready for commuters in January 2015.

Welcoming the move Conservative Candidate for Blackheath Westcombe Thomas Turrell said “I am delighted that the Conservatives will be helping out hard working commuters who either use alternative means of transport or work part-time”.
