Thameslink Information "Event" - too low key

Blackheath Westcombe residents who use the Greenwich line are concerned about the effect the Thameslink Programme will have on their train services and so would have welcomed the news that an information event was to be held at stations on the line.   However, Blackheath Westcombe Councillor, Geoff Brighty, has said he was disappointed by what he saw at Westcombe Park Station.

He said  " I looked in on the “event” at Westcombe Park on my way home from work.  There were two people giving out leaflets and that seemed to be about it.  I had thought there might, at least, be some kind of display similar to that provided at a Councillor briefing some months ago. I found it disappointing to say the least and contacted Greenwich Council's  Transportation Planning and Strategy Manager who is liaising with Network Rail.  She is contacting NR both about the low key nature of the “event” and the need for greater engagement with residents generally both in the run up to the protracted London Bridge works and the subsequent suggested loss of any direct Charing Cross services via the Greenwich line."
