Conservatives label Tesco queue dangerous

At the January Council meeting and again in June, Conservative Council Group Leader Spencer Drury questioned the Labour Cabinet Member about the queue at the Tesco/Esso Petrol Station, which now regularly stretches out onto the roundabout, causing cars to swerve dangerously. In her January reply the Labour Cabinet member suggested that the whole problem was for Transport for London (TfL) to deal with and the Council had done nothing but contact them. By June, the Council had held meetings, but the Cabinet Member was still had no solution for the problem and was asking for ideas.

In response, local activist Elizabeth Drury said: “A number of residents have raised concerns about the dangerous way the queue now snakes back onto the roundabout. It simply isn’t good enough for the Council to wash its hands on this issue and I will continue to actively pursuing them to ensure that they do not ignore this potentially dangerous problem.”

In September Conservative GLA Member Gareth Bacon asked the Mayor of London about the problems at the roundabout.  We are waiting for answers from Boris at this moment.
