Cllr John Hills gets new pedestrian refuge island in Mottingham Rd

Three years ago, after residents in the Mottingham Road and Leysdown Road area approached ward Councillors with their serious concerns regarding accidents caused by speeding motorists exiting Leysdown Road, the ward Councillors approached Greenwich Council, and asked for a pedestrian refuge island to be installed in Mottingham Road.

During this 3 year period, Councillor John Hills kept up pressure on Greenwich Council to have the concerns of the local residents recognised, and dealt with. The refuge island has now been installed. Local residents and staff of the local nursery school have contacted the ward Councillors to say that they would like to give their thanks to the ward Councillors and Greenwich Council, for listening to their concerns, and installing the island.
