Avery Hill car wash to go to local planning committee

Next week's Eltham Planning Committee will see the consideration of the application to continue the hand car wash activities at the former petrol station site on Avery Hill Road.

The car wash started in Easter this year, following the council refusing permission for an inappropriate shop and flats development on the site.  No planning permission to sue the site as a car wash was ever sought, and following complaints from residents local Conservative councillors sought enforcement action and Greenwich Council put in place a Stop Notice, which was ignored.

An application has now come forward to be considered by the committee on 21 September at 6.30pm, at St Mary's Community Centre, Eltham High St

All three Eltham South Conservative councillors have supported residents in objecting to the application, and have also called for restrictions to be placed on any permission that is granted, included restricting hours of operation and ensuring that proper signage and boundary treatments are put in place.

Residents can have their say by attending the meeting and speaking on the application before the committee, your three councillors Adam Thomas, Eileen Glover and Matt Clare will also be attending to support residents.
