Eltham North councillors talk to residents in Dairsie Road

Eltham North councillors Spencer Drury and Dermot Poston, led a team this Saturday to talk to residents in Dairsie Road about their concerns over speeding cars as well as collecting signatures for a petition to present to Greenwich council.

The petition calls for the council to consider what traffic calming measures could be put in place on the road to make it safer, as well as full consultation with residents and Deansfield School. Residents also showed councillors Drury and Poston signs that local children had made themselves asking drivers to slow down.

Cllr Spencer Drury said "This is a serious issue, residents have told us that cars are regularly getting up to speeds of 40-50 mph, and given that other roads in this area have had traffic calming measures put in place, I find it odd that Dairsie Road hasn't had similar attention, given that there is a clear problem and  Deansfield Primary School is on the road."

Eltham North councillors will be presenting the petition at the next council meeting, if you are concerned about this issue or you would like to add your name to the petition, please contact Cllr Drury on spencer.drury@greenwich.gov.uk
