Priorities set at Eltham South Safer Neighbourhood meeting

Cllr Adam Thomas recently attended the latest Eltham South Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel meeting to discuss issues concerning residents.

A range of issues were discussed, including:

  • The increased use of motorbikes in the New Eltham area – the SaferNeighbourhood Team have agreed to focus on this issue to try and reduce incidents.
  • Parking enforcement issues – Adam has contacted Greenwich Council to discuss issues of parking enforcement, particularly on cycle lanes and routes onBexley Road and Crown Woods Way
  • Dangerous Dogs in Avery Hill – Adam has contacted neighbourhood offices to look at how dog enforcement measures can be communicated across the area more effectively.
  • License for Sparrows Farm – Now that Greenwich Council has awarded a new drinks and entertainment license to Sparrows farm, Adam asked residents to ensure they record all their complaints either to him or the local police team, if there was continuing disturbance.
  • Car crime - Adam has written to senior police officers in Greenwich to ask for existing SNT funds to be released to help the local police team tackle this growing problem in residential streets around Eltham High Street.

Ward panel meetings are an important way for local residents to talk to their local police team about their concerns around crime and anti-social behaviour. If you would be interested in joining the ward panel, please contact Cllr Adam Thomas on adam.thomas@greenwich.gov.uk
