Blackheath Westcombe round up

A quick round up of some of the things that Blackheath Westcombe Councillor Rhodri Harris has been doing for local residents

  • Rhodri Harris has supported local schools in their campaign to improve pedestrian safety at the Shooter's Hill Road / Stratheden Road junction. "I welcome the new crossing but I would still prefer an all-red phase to the lights, and hope that Transport for London can be persuaded to install one in due course" he said.
  • After a long campaign by residents, work is under way at Pond Road to replace an unattractive area of tarmac with grass.  Rhodri would like to hear from residents elsewhere in the ward who feel that a similar project on Council property would enhance their environment.
  • Rhodri is attempting to persuade the Council to install a fence for safety and security reasons around the children's playground on the Kidbrooke Park estate.
  • Following the recent closure of two post offices in the Westcombe area, the Post Office has announced a period of consultation about their services in the Borough, in the summer.  We do not know whether or not there will be more branch closure proposals, but would advise all residents to remain alert to the possibility.
