Greenwich has most dangerous roads in London for child accidents

Recent analysis undertaken by the independent camapaign organisation Road Safety Analysis has found that 1 in 442 children in Greenwich have a serious road accident, the highest of all the London boroughs.

The best performing London Borough was Conservative controlled Kensington and Chelsea, which was actually rated the best authority in the UK for road safety for children.  Conservative councillors across the borough have been campaigning for road safety measures, presenting petitions from concerned residents who have called for measures to prevent speeding traffic.   Cllr Adam Thomas who shadows the community safety brief said,  ‘It is  certainly worrying that Greenwich has come out of this report as the worst London Borough for road safety for children. As a group on the council we have all called for specific measures in our wards where road safety is a problem. In my own ward of Eltham South we have called for road safety measure son Blanmerle Road and Green Lane.  The Labour administration needs to start taking this issue seriously following this independent analysis.’
