Getting a new home for your local police?

Your two Conservative Councillors for Blackheath Westcombe are helping to find a new home for your local Safer Neighborhood Team (SNT). The SNT is currently made up of two police officers and two community support officers, who together help to tackle crime and anti-social behavior in and around Blackheath Westcombe.

With the new Marks and Spencer's opening in the new year at the Blackheath Standard there is the possibility that the M&S supermarket could also provide a home for the SNT. Your two local Conservative Councillors have written to the Borough Commander of the local police supporting funding to secure this new home.

In related news, at the last Safer Neighborhood meeting, last week, both Geoff and Alex welcomed the local police team's efforts to get to grips with anti-social behaviour in this area. After talking to your local Conservative Councillors and local residents the SNT have been concentrating on the Standard, the Rochester Way shopping parade and local break-ins.

One new innovative scheme which is going to be tried locally is to set a trap for local car thieves, the police hope to catch people who steal items and goods from people's cars.

The local community safety panel is always looking for new members, if you are interested in helping to reduce crime and anti-social behavior in your local area then please contact them on the details below.
