Boris Johnson supports police on rally

Boris Johnson today marched through Westminster with the police officers in support of their pay dispute. He received a terrific welcome from the boys in blue who cheered him along and chanted his name as he spoke out against the Government's decision to deny the officers backdated pay to September 2007.

Boris said, "It is amazing to see over 20,000 police officers on the streets of London. They protested with dignity and responsibility and are a credit to their respective forces across the country.

"I will continue to lobby this government for the pay deal they deserve."
