Plans for Hornfair Lido

A planning application to develop Hornfair Lido was submitted earlier this year. The application proposes a state of the art diving centre on the site, whilst ensuring the Lido itself is retained for public use and completely refurbished.

Kidbrooke with Hornfair Councillor Graeme Coombes spoke to Council officers about the plan and arranged a meeting between the applicants and the Thornhill Tenants and Residents Association.

The proposal is currently being considered by the GLA before it goes to Greenwich Council's Planning Committee.

Graeme said, "I am pleased that plans have been submitted to develop the Lido and improve the facilities. Since the Labour Council kept it closed for a whole summer a few years ago, a question mark has hung over its future.

“I have been assured that if this plan is approved, the Lido will be retained for public use and we will also get a new diving centre on the site.

“I have also asked the council to ensure that the security of the park is considered as part of this application, bearing in mind the vandalism and arson that has taken place in recent years".

The Council has agreed to a request from Graeme to host an exhibition of the plans, before they are submitted to the planning committee, so that local residents have the opportunity to comment.

Your local Conservative Councillors will notify residents living near the Lido when the date and venue for the exhibition is confirmed.
