Government minister comes home to Eltham

Woolwich born Government minister, the MP John  Hayes has come back to Eltham where he was brought up, to visit the renovated Tudor Barn and meet with the restaurant’s proprietor Marcus Luck , Local Conservative Councillors and members of the Progress Estate Residents Association.

The Minister without Portfolio and senior adviser to the Prime Minister in the Cabinet Office, was brought up in Alnwick road, on the Horn Park Estate, spending his student years earning money as a Park Warden working particularly at the Pleasaunce and Sutcliffe Park.  John Hayes,  who has represented the Lincolnshire seat of South Holland and The Deepings since 1997, said “It is great to be back in Eltham I have very good memories of the Pleasance and the Tudor Barn; it is and always has been a little gem in the heart of Eltham.   I worked here in my  vacations in the late 70s and early 80s and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to see the real improvements to the Tudor Barn and how well it is now thriving as a growing business.  Thank you to  Marcus Luck for hosting my meeting with the local councillors and Progress Residents.”
