Victory for residents and councillors in preventing Avery Hill garden grab

Avery Hill residents and Eltham South councillor Adam Thomas were celebrating today after the Planning Inspector ruled against garden grab development behind 182-184 Avery Hill Road.

A Planning Inquiry had been held in November to consider the proposals for two new properties to be developed behind the existing home son Avery Hill.

Residents and Cllr Adam Thomas attended the inquiry and strongly put the case that the development would be inappropriate and affect the character of the road, as well as cause great concern around highways safety and noise and disturbance for surrounding neighbours.

The Planning Inspector listened to these arguments and ruled against development.

Cllr Adam Thomas said, "This is fantastic news for the residents living close to the site and just shows that when people make their voices heard they are listened to.  As Conservative councillors we'll keep fighting for the interests of residents in Eltham South."
