Conservatives welcome renewal of Dispersal Zone for Eltham High Street

Eltham Conservatives today welcomed the announcement that the Dispersal Zone for Eltham High Street has been renewed within the six month deadline. This is a much improved situation from Autumn 2012 where the Labour Council’s incompetence left the High Street without a zone for two weeks until Conservative Councillor’s protests spurred them into action.

Conservatives question dangerous Tescos petrol queue

At the January Council meeting, Conservative Council Group Leader Spencer Drury questioned the Labour Cabinet member about the queue at the Tesco Petrol Station, which now regularly stretches out onto the roundabout, causing cars to swerve dangerously.

Council leaves Eltham Town Centre without successful dispersal zone

Eltham Town Centre has been left without its successful anti-crime dispersal zone after Labour failed to renew it. After questions from Conservative Councillor Spencer Drury, it appeared that despite a request from the police to renew the initiative, the Labour party missed the deadline; Labour councillors did not however, miss the deadline to renew a dispersal zone in Woolwich.

Eltham community comes together on Remembrance Day

At Sunday's Remembrance Day parade in Eltham, all sections of the community came together to remember member of the British and Commonwealth's armed forces who have died during conflicts. With Armistice Day also being remembered today, the crowds were as large as always.

Boris Johnson visited Eltham High Street on Bank Holiday Monday

Boris was greeted warmly by the shoppers on the High Street on what was a very wet day, with cars stopping and many people getting their photo taken with the Mayor of London.
