Contract with Greenwich - Conservatives Local Council Manifesto 2010

A CONTRACT WITH GREENWICH
The Conservative Manifesto for Greenwich Borough Council Elections 2010

An Introduction to the Conservative Manifesto
By Leader of the Conservative Group, Cllr Spencer Drury

File 555Greenwich last had a Conservative Council in 1968 and has been run by the Labour party since 1971. Over the last 40 years, Labour has dominated our borough and in my opinion, ran out of ideas some time ago. The last four years have seen a range of broken promises, failed projects, chaotic management and propaganda  suggesting Labour needs to lose power in Greenwich to ensure that the borough is renewed with a fresh sense of energy, vision and optimism.

A Conservative Council will provide this vision for the people of Greenwich and in the Contract with Greenwich Residents that we lay out in our manifesto; we hope to make clear how we will improve the borough if we win the Council elections in May.

I hope that you will take the time to look at our policies and pledges as we think that you will agree our ideas show a better way forward than the current Labour Council can offer. A Conservative Council would look beyond the confines of a few projects in Woolwich and govern to ensure that all of the borough’s residents benefit. We commit to being the party of all residents not just a few, which Labour has proven to be.
