Eltham South Councillor Adam Thomas recently visited Alderwood School, to speak to the School Council about their ideas for the local area and Avery Hill.

The School Council is made up of elected pupils from each of the classes, and help to make decisions affecting the school.

Avery Hill car wash to go to local planning committee

Next week's Eltham Planning Committee will see the consideration of the application to continue the hand car wash activities at the former petrol station site on Avery Hill Road.

Councillors lead Call-In on Hambledown decision

All three Eltham South councillors attended a meeting of Greenwich Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee to discuss the council's decision to develop housing on Hambledown Green, at the end of Hambledown Road.  Despite this being a decision of the Leader of the Council, Cllr Roberts seemed to be too busy to attend the meeting and no Cabinet Member came to defend the decision.

Conservatives continue campaign to keep New Eltham tidy on litter pick

Conservative councillors from Coldharbour and New Eltham and Eltham South were out in force at New Eltham Library on a litter pick to keep the grounds of the library looking neat and tidy for users and the local community.

Councillor gets tree problem sorted in 1/2 hour for Hambledown residents

After receiving complaints from residents living on Hambledown Road in Avery Hill, regarding a tree causing damage to parked cars, Eltham South councillor, Eileen Glover called the tree specialist at Greenwich Council to resolve the problem.

Within 1/2 hour of a site visit to look at the tree, council workmen had pruned the tree back to ensure it was no longer causing damage.

Labour Cabinet Member apologises for weeds across Greenwich

At last night’s meeting of Greenwich Council, in response to a question from Leader of the Conservative Group Cllr Spencer Drury, the Labour Cabinet Member for street cleaning apologised for the state of pavements and roads across the borough.
