Cllr. Fletcher at the Bob Hope Theatre

Councillor Nigel Fletcher, Deputy Leader of Greenwich Conservatives and Shadow spokesman for Culture and Olympics, visited the Bob Hope Theatre recently during "Be a local tourist" day in Eltham.  He spoke to staff and volunteers and saw final preparations for that week's performances.  http://www.bobhopetheatre.co.uk/  

Next consultation event for Avery Hill cycle tracks

The next consultation event for the proposed new Avery Hill Park Greenways will be on Monday 19 March, starting at 7.30pm in the Mary Seacole Building at the Greenwich University Avery Hill campus site.

Councillor stands up for residents at Shepherd's Leas

At the recent full council meeting of Greenwich Councillor, Eltham South councillor Eileen Glover took the Labour council to task over the continuing issues around the maintenance of the Shepherd Leas community at the top of Riefield Road.

Eltham South team out campaigning for Boris in New Eltham

Eltham South councillors Adam Thomas and Matt Clare joined Greenwich & Lewisham London Assembly candidate Alex Wilson and members of Conservative Future to campaign for Boris in New Eltham and Avery Hill.

The team deliveredd over 5000 leaflets in two polling districts, supporting the Boris re election effort and campaigning against Greenwich Council's disastrous parking charge proposals for Eltham High Street.

Consultation on new Restons Crescent play area

 

Greenwich Council is putting forward plans for a new play area for Under 8s on the Avery Hill estate.  The existing equipment on the play area will be removed and new equipment installed.

"Crown Woods must be allowed to compete with grammar schools in Bexley - It's what parents want."

Councilllors on the Children and Young People's Scrutiny Panel left the Town Hall last week to hold a meeting at the newly completed Crown Woods College, built under the last Government's Building Schools for Future programme.

Conservatives Criticise bogus consultation

On Friday the Woolwich based Labour Council opened a consultation on introducing parking charges on Eltham High Street, but Conservatives fear that the result is already a forgone conclusion.

 

Sparrows Farm residents meeting: 23 February 7pm

The next Sparrows Farm residents meeting, to discuss the bar's licensing arrangements will be held on Thursday 23 February, starting at 7pm at Sparrows Farm at the end of Saprrows Lane.

All residents are welcome to attend.

Eltham South councillor talks to police on YouTube video

Eltham South councillor Matt Clare has taken immediate action with the local police and council after concerned residents posted footage on video website YouTube of speeding traffic on Avery Hill Road.
