Councillor Drury visits the Eltham Park Festival

On Saturday Eltham North Councillor Spencer Drury attended the alternately washed out and then sun bathed Eltham Park Festival.  The Festival was held in aid of the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, Friends of Eltham Park, Help Harry Walk and A touch above riot relief. 

Tea and Cake in Eltham North

Eltham North Ward Conservatives celebrated the English summer with a rain drenched gathering.  At the 'Tea and Cake' afternoon members of Eltham North ward were joined by their three Councillors (Spencer Drury, Nigel Fletcher and Dermot Poston) and GLA candidate for Greenwich and Lewisham Cllr Alex Wilson.  There were a tremendous range of cakes and we are really grateful to those who put so much effort into making them.

Eltham Councillors speak to traders over riot fears

Labour Cabinet Member apologises for weeds across Greenwich

At last night’s meeting of Greenwich Council, in response to a question from Leader of the Conservative Group Cllr Spencer Drury, the Labour Cabinet Member for street cleaning apologised for the state of pavements and roads across the borough. 

 

Tea and Cake with Eltham North Conservatives

Eltham North Conservatives invite you to join them for tea and cake (or Kaffee und Kuchen for those of you who wish to celebrate Germany using a lot of cash to bail out Greece) on the afternoon of Saturday 20th August.  The event will be attended by the Conservative GLA Candidate for the Greenwich and Lewisham constituency Cllr Alex Wilson.

 

 

Entry is £5 which will give you as much tea or coffee as you can drink together with a slice of cake. 

Gardening on the Progress Estate

On Wednesday Eltham Conservatives joined Chair of the Progress Residents’ Association Rita Bygrave to help sort out the gardens of residents of Moira Road who were struggling to maintain them.

Cllr Drury visits Eltham Community Hospital exhibition

At the start of July Eltham North Councillor Spencer Drury visited the exhibition at the Eltham Centre to view the revised proposals for the Eltham Community Hospital.  The hospital is being created in Passey Place and will help to address long-term concerns expressed by Eltham's residents and Conservative Councillors over the healthcare available in our community.

Fence to be repaired in Eltham Park after years of lobbying

Eltham North Conservatives welcomed the decision of Greenwich Council’s Cabinet to repair the fencing around Eltham Park South (which separates it from the Warren Golf Club). 

 

Overcrowding to become a fact of life as Greenwich fails to plan for children’s futures

At a meeting of Greenwich Council’s Cabinet on Tuesday, Labour Councillors agreed to spend in excess of £45m patching up and installing portacabins in primary schools across the borough as they searched for extra places for primary age children.

 

Police focus to shift from gangs to serious youth crime

At Tuesday’s Safer and Stronger Community meeting in the Woolwich Town Hall Councillors received a report from the Violent and Organised Crime Unit (VOCU) which is funded by the Council but part of the Greenwich Police force.  Conservatives have backed the VOCU in the Council’s budget and were pleased to hear about its success to date.
