Greenwich Cabinet was informed on Tuesday evening that it was to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Coalition Government’s proposed reform of the way Council housing is funded.

Greenwich Council has decided to consult this week on proposals to install parking for bicycles on Eltham High Street.

Hornfair Park shows Greenwich Labour’s neglect

Greenwich still behind London Boroughs on Education

Cllrs Spencer Drury and Adam Thomas attended the latest meeting of the Council's Best Value Review committee which is looking at the future role of Greenwich's Local Education Authority, councillors were given a presentation on the early indications of the latest exam results fro Greenwich.

Conservatives report Greenwich’s propaganda rag to District Auditor

This week Greenwich Conservatives have reported the Labour Council’s propaganda newspaper Greenwich Time (henceforth GT) to the District Auditor.  The decision to ask for an independent person to review the paper came in the wake of the Council’s decision to ignore the Coalition government’s guidance on the style and regularity of local government publicity.

 

Eltham North Committee Member Janet Clark meets Boris

On Wednesday last week Eltham North Committee member Janet Clark was one of a lucky few who got to meet Mayor of London Boris Johnson and discuss the important issues of the day.  Janet won the prize as a result of donating £12 to the Back Boris re-election campaign.  Janet said "It was very interesting to meet Boris and to hear about plans first hand".

Councillor Drury visits the Eltham Park Festival

On Saturday Eltham North Councillor Spencer Drury attended the alternately washed out and then sun bathed Eltham Park Festival.  The Festival was held in aid of the Jimmy Mizen Foundation, Friends of Eltham Park, Help Harry Walk and A touch above riot relief.
