A cafe blocked for two years by Greenwich council has finally opened up on an Eltham council estate after more than 750 residents backed their local councillors' campaign to regenerate a parade of empty shops. Thanks to the success of the Conservative’s ‘Mend the Mound’ campaign and strong pressure on the council to take action, New Eltham couple, Safak and Erdogan Potinci finally opened Café Mound this month serving breakfast and lunch, and providing a much-needed meeting point for residents.
