Burger King Site – Five Ways A 20

On the 24th June 2010 an application went to the Planning Board for conditional planning permission for the demolition of the old ‘Crossways’ public house, now Burger King, and  to construct a 62 room hotel, bar and restaurant on the site.

Conservatives support regeneration of local amenities

Your Conservative candidates will continue to fight for the preservation of local amenities. Local shops are under threat in New Eltham and the Mound; your local councillors have lobbied the council to look at reducing rent levels over the last four years to encourage small businesses to take up leases and to revitalise facilities for the local community.

Neil Dickinson

Neil served as Conservative councillor for Coldharbour & New Eltham ward between 2010 and 2014, aftering having worked in the area for over 20 years as an NHS dentist. While on the council, Neil served on the Greenwich Area Planning Committee, various Licensing sub-committees, the Safer & Stronger Communities Scrutiny Panel and the Social Inclusion Scrutiny Panel.

Chris Taylor

Chris was first elected to Greenwich Council in 2002 and stood down in 2010, and he is a policy advisor at the London Assembly. From May 2010 to May 2014 Chris served as a Conservative Councillor for Colyers ward in the London Borough of Bexley, also serving as a Cabinet Member.

Mandy Brinkhurst

Councillor for Coldharbour & New Eltham ward

Mandy was first elected to Greenwich council in 2006 and currently works for a local charity providing services to older people in the community.

Mandy lived on Coldharbour Estate until she was married and then for a number of years on Sidcup Road at the Fiveways.  Mandy attended Greenacres Primary School and went on to Kidbrooke School for Girls.

Safer Neighbourhood Team moves to Coldharbour

After a long wait and search the Coldharbour and New Eltham Safer Neighbourhood Team have moved into their new facilities on Coldharbour estate adjacent to the Library.

Conservatives support our local libraries

In 2008/9 Cllr Mandy Brinkhurst was part of the Libraries Committee, set up to improve ourlibraries. As a result of the Committee’s report, refurbishment plans have been made for five libraries around the borough, including New Eltham library.
