On Thursday, GLA Candidate Councillor Alex Wilson met with Bob Neil MP, Minister for London, who was visiting Woolwich to see how the government's funds for repairing the town centre after the riots had been spent.

At the start of the last week before Christmas a sudden hole appeared in Hardy Road, next to Ingleside Gardens. Quick to respond were Conservative Councilors Neil Dickinson and Alex Wilson who were able to inform the Council’s highway's department about the danger in the road.

Labour spend £3.1 m for 'Olympic Legacy' in Shooters Hill

Greenwich Council has been anxious, even desperate, to have some tangible legacy from its status as an Olympic host Borough.  All well and good but some might find it a strange legacy that requires the recipient to pay for it!   In this case the Council is preparing to stump up £3.1m as a contribution to an Equestrian Centre at 341 Shooters Hill Road.

Talks are still going on between Greenwich Council, Southeastern and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) about the proposed revised timetable for the duration of the Olympic games but the answer to a question at the December Council Meeting from Blackheath Westcombe Councillor Geoff Brighty confirmed there had been little progress so far and little to bring a smile to commuters faces.
