Chris Van Roon

2018 Council Candidate for Woolwich Riverside

Chris Van Roon has been selected as one of the Conservative candidates for Woolwich Riverside ward ahead of the next council elections in May. Chris was a Conservative Councillor in Swindon between 2003 and 2007 and during this time he led many successful campaigns such as installing zebra crossings to improve road safety between two schools. He has also served as a school governor and Chair of Governors at a primary school.  Chris is a trustee at a central London church, St Sepulchres, where he worships and where he coordinates action supporting Hackney Foodbank. He ran his first half marathon in 2017, the Royal Parks Half, on behalf of Mind and Bipolar UK. He loves Charlton Lido, Greenwich Park and cinema in his spare time.
